About Us
Protecting Reproductive Health is a grassroots group committed to addressing the maternal mortality crisis in Tennessee. We don't have a political agenda — we have a healthcare agenda. Our work is driven by evidence, guided by medical expertise, and grounded in the real experiences of local families.
What We Do
Most people in Tennessee don't know how serious our maternal health crisis is — and that's where we start. We work to raise awareness about the scope of the problem, educate our community on the systemic and structural causes behind our state's high maternal mortality rate, and equip people with the tools they need to advocate for meaningful change.
Behind every statistic is a mother, a family, and a community forever changed by a loss. In too many cases, that loss was preventable. This work matters because these deaths are not inevitable — they are the result of gaps in care, policy, and awareness that we have the power to close.
Lasting solutions require an informed and engaged public. When people understand the true scale of this crisis, they can take tangible actions to help drive real change.

What We Believe
Our Vision for Tennessee
We envision a Tennessee where every pregnant person receives quality care from the start, is supported through the full arc of pregnancy and postpartum recovery, and is met with competence and compassion at every step.
A state where maternal deaths are rare, disparities in outcomes are actively addressed, and no family is left to grieve a loss that could have been prevented.
That future is possible — and an informed, engaged public is how we get there.
